ASSOCIATE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST
Before joining Serene, Rachel worked at an LGBTQ center, where she worked with teens and adults who experienced anxiety, depression, BPD, OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, religious trauma, gender dysphoria, and more. Rachel also has previous experience working with children, teens, adults, and families in community mental health, including working with people who experienced intimate partner violence.
Rachel’s therapeutic passions include working with LGBTQIA folks, those who have experienced religious trauma, those wanting to work on their relationship with their bodies and food, and college students. Other treatment areas include anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and interpersonal conflict.
She knows the importance of having a therapist that is culturally informed and radically inclusive and her biggest priority for all of her clients is that they feel safe and seen.
Rachel works from an eclectic therapeutic lens, including a feminist, systematic, psychodynamic perspective, while using CBT and DBT when appropriate. This means she helps her clients explore, understand, and heal from the mental health challenges they face due to their experiences, from childhood until now, and the systems that impact them, with the belief that all people deserve to heal.
Rachel received her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of La Verne.
