We're Here to Listen
Our experience enables us to offer effective outpatient, individualized, psychological care. We treat a number of mental health disorders, and provide a neutral ground to individuals, families, and couples.
Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.
You may feel alone right now. We promise to be there for you on your journey. Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in life.
Recent groups have revolved around women's support, domestic violence and parenting as well as for Spanish-speakers.
We want to help you through your path. One of the first questions we are going to ask is who referred you? We are part of your team. We work alongside doctors, psychiatrists, etc., to best coordinate your care and ensure your success. This means many we work with will refer to us, sharing the philosophy of working together as a team to best help the client. It is so valuable to have that support especially when medical and other issues may be playing a role in what you are dealing with.
We tend to ask clients to come in a little early as we have a few forms that will help look at potential areas to pay attention to in our work.
We want you to feel safe and as comfortable as possible knowing how difficult it can be to feel and face pain. In asking you questions (how long have you experienced these things, have you noticed patterns in when or where you struggle, etc.), we want to help fully understand the intracacies of your struggle with a solid treatment plan that makes sense to you
Let's be clear. All of us are going to get stuck sometimes. You are not going to have all the answers all of the time. Besides, just because we can think we are saying or doing something perfectly, does not mean our loved-ones (or co-workers, friends, etc.,) are in the best place to receive it. We are here to help you better address issues, see them in different and more manageable ways. We will explore what may be getting in the way of your goals and happiness while coming up with a plan that focuses on your wants and needs
We are happy to share that with so many referrals and requests for additional services, we opened our second office, Serene Pathways 2 last year. Serene 2 also has a yoga studio
Q -- Can therapy help me?
A -- A good therapist can help you cope with feelings, problem-solve and change behavior patterns that may contribute to your symptoms.
Q - What will people think of me if I go to therapy?
A - First, who is going to know? You decide if and who you tell. We strive to keep confidentiality and barring, for example, you or others being in danger, your decision to share about coming in is yours. Sadly though, we do tend to focus on and worry about what others think of us. Imagine getting to a place where this is less of a concern.
Q - Will I be prescribed medicine?
A - Only an MD can prescribe meds. If you or we think this is something we need to consider, we can certainly discuss such a referral. Sometimes, we might suggest such a referral for a more specific assessment and we work with some wonderful ones who may come up with ideas, tools and techniques that you or we have not considered.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
Therapy also offered in Spanish, Mandarin, & Tagalog
