Paul Missirlian
ASSOCIATE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST
Paul has worked in private practice and also within a high school setting. He has helped individuals and teens struggling with anxiety, depression, relational conflict and grief during his time as an associate.
Paul is passionate about helping his clients grow to be the best versions of themselves while utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused brief therapy. His goal is to assist clients in challenging themselves to overcome their hardships and gain perspective on their struggles. Although pragmatic in his approach, he is able to provide a space for the client to process their thoughts and feelings with empathy, compassion and without judgment.
He encourages his clients to become more authentic versions of themselves and supports them by providing tools, strategies and active-listening techniques to help meet their goals, at the clients own pace. He believes therapy is “collaborative” and encourages the client to have an active participation in their therapy.
Paul received his master's degree in clinical counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University following his career in the culinary industry for over 10 years. Along with therapy, he also enjoys time with his family, cooking, writing music and challenging himself in Jiu Jitsu.
Paul is supervised by Doris Chien-Yu Lebouf, LMFT.
