Desiree hernandez

LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Desiree (she/her/hers) has over 15 years of experience providing mental health services to children, including 0-5 with their caregivers, teens, young adults, and adults. She has worked in school-based settings and community outpatient settings.

She is passionate about respecting the cultural uniqueness of every individual she meets. She believes that every individual has the ability to live a healthy life when addressing life challenges in a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic space.  She values the importance of developing a therapeutic relationship to assist individuals in building insight to reach their goals.

She uses an eclectic-client-centered approach. She has been trained in evidenced based practices and has used therapeutic frameworks such as CBT, IPT, PCIT, Seeking Safety, solution-focused, and play therapy. Some of her experience has been working with individuals living with depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, relational challenges, life transitions, trauma, and grief and loss.

She earned her Master of Social Work from Azusa Pacific University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cal State Fullerton.
